Notion

Artific Connect ยท Notion gives a key Notion's own tools: search, pages and databases. It installs from the Marketplace like any other bundle.

What you get

One toolset, notion, holding everything Notion's own MCP server offers, plus a skill that tells the model the difference between a page and a database and why some pages the search cannot find. Attach the toolset to a key and the tools are there.

Signing in

The tools act as the person the turn is for, through that person's own Notion account โ€” so a turn sees exactly what that person may see and chose to share, and nothing else. Two things follow:

  • a request must name a user; one that names nobody is told so instead of calling a tool;
  • each person signs in once, from the bundle's page in the console or through the link the model is given the first time it tries, and picks which pages and databases the connection may reach.

The consent screen says Artific: the application is this deployment's, registered once by its operator, and no organisation registers one of its own. Notion's hosted server has no other mode: there is no organisation-wide token or API key it will take instead.

Before it works

Your administrator has to allow mcp.notion.com in the key's own egress policy โ€” it is both the MCP server and where sign-in and the token exchange run.

If the operator has not registered the Artific application at Notion yet, the install waits: the bundle sits at needs configuration and names what it is waiting for.

Good to know

  • Verified 2026-09-24 on developers.notion.com and Notion's own MCP setup guides: the server is https://mcp.notion.com/mcp, global, no stated region, and authentication is always per-person OAuth โ€” there is no other mode to fall back to.
  • The Artific application is registered at Notion as a public integration, which needs a privacy-policy link, a terms-of-use link and a support email besides the redirect URI, because it is offered to every Notion workspace rather than one.
  • Rate limits are per person; a page not found by search is usually one nobody shared with the connection yet, from Notion's own connection settings.
  • The mark: this bundle's card still uses Artific's own placeholder. Notion's brand page requires signing in to a Notion account to read, so this deployment could not confirm what it permits for a third-party integration listing (checked 2026-09-24).
