Linear

Artific Connect · Linear gives a key Linear's own tools: issues, projects, cycles and comments. It installs from the Marketplace like any other bundle.

What you get

One toolset, linear, holding everything Linear's own MCP server offers, plus a skill that tells the model how an issue is identified and what to ask you for. Attach the toolset to a key and the tools are there.

Signing in

The tools act as the person the turn is for, through that person's own Linear account — so a turn sees exactly what that person may see, and nothing else. Two things follow:

  • a request must name a user; one that names nobody is told so instead of calling a tool;
  • each person signs in once, from the bundle's page in the console or through the link the model is given the first time it tries.

The consent screen says Artific: the application is this deployment's, registered once by its operator, and no organisation registers one of its own.

Before it works

Your administrator has to allow mcp.linear.app in the key's own egress policy — it is both the MCP server and where sign-in and the token exchange run.

If the operator has not registered the Artific application at Linear yet, the install waits: the bundle sits at needs configuration and names what it is waiting for.

Good to know

  • Verified 2026-09-24 on linear.app/docs/mcp: the server is https://mcp.linear.app/mcp, global, no stated region.
  • Not confirmed on Linear's own MCP page, and worth a smoke test: Linear's MCP documentation describes dynamic client registration as its primary flow — a client introducing itself to mcp.linear.app's own authorization server at connection time, which Core does not do. Linear also offers ordinary pre-registered OAuth applications (Settings → API → OAuth applications) for its REST and GraphQL API; whether such an application is accepted by the MCP server's own authorization server (mcp.linear.app/authorize) is not stated on the page and is confirmed at the first sign-in attempt with a real application. If it is not accepted, Linear's MCP tools also take a bearer token or a Linear API key directly, which is a fallback worth asking for if the sign-in link never completes.
  • Rate limits are per person and documented on Linear's own developer pages as resetting within the hour.
  • The mark: this bundle's card still uses Artific's own placeholder. Linear's brand guidelines forbid displaying its graphics "in a way that implies a relationship, affiliation, or endorsement by Linear" and offer no explicit exception for an integration marketplace card, so the safer reading is to ask Linear first, which this deployment has not done (checked 2026-09-24).
